I cannot enable the windows firewall on one the computers on my network. All are connected to an Actiontec DSL Gateway with a defective firewall. On this computer running Windows XP SP 1, it has Internet Connection Sharing enabled and I cant get rid of it. I never enabled it in the first place.

Is it just one computer connected to the internet? Or do you have ICS-Internet connection Sharing running on it or another computer? If ICF allows you to enable applications or protocols by name, see what is in there. Maybe it I don't have XP to look at and investigate, unfortunately.

Can't enable internet connection sharing!
I'm trying to get Internet Connection Sharing on a win2k advanced server (I'ma newbie on this OS) to two other pc's using win98se. Every time that I have attempted to install ICS, I get the error message: " Cannot Enable Shared Access, Error 783. Internet Connection Sharing cannot be enabled.
